Separation
Separation has become something we carry with us, as if the war came not only to kill us, but to tear away everything we love, one thing after another. Since it began, it has taken our homes, then our sense of safety, then someone dear to us, then a dream… until all that remains are hearts weighed down by everything they have lost, and souls pretending to be strong so they do not collapse.
We have begun saying goodbye more often than we meet, losing more than we ever possess, carrying in our memories faces that were supposed to remain with us. And every time we think the pain has reached its limit, another separation comes to teach us that grief has doors we never knew existed.
Our hearts are bleeding in silence… If you could see what lies within them, you would weep blood instead of tears for us. We no longer fear separation alone; we have begun to fear the day when there will be no one left for us to lose.
