Got some surprisingly large power consumption wins - over a hundred watts - around the lab from fixing some broken DPMS configurations.
Did not realize how much juice some of these displays pull.
We'll have to see long term numbers once I get averaging over a greater period of usage, but my monthly average is for the lab is 4020W and today I've averaged 3890 (130W average reduction or around 3%). This isn't even a fair comparison since I was traveling earlier in the month and so the average is lower than normal.
The reduction is a combination of DPMS improvements and swapping one of my legacy Cisco switches out for a newer FS one plus shutting down the other air cleaner.
There's some weird desktop environment bugs to deal with, some solved by migrating from HDMI to displayport on the new Samsung 32", but overall seems manageable.
Once I retire the other two legacy switches I think it should be possible to get sub 3800W average with no loss of functionality.
