How would you pick your top 3-4 movies of all time? There are movies that I recognize as great movies—in terms of craft—but which I never want to see again. There are my favorite movies—“comfort food” that I could watch anytime—many of which I recognize are not great films. There are movies that I know backwards and forwards and could quote long stretches of dialogue from, but which I would not generally recommend as good movies. And i feel like whatever list I come up with might change depending on my mood. It’s a quandary.
