๐ฌ๐ง British civilian ships could be fitted with experimental sensors to detect Russian submarines in the English Channel โ The Telegraph.
Fiber-optic cables that transmit data from underwater acoustic receivers are already in use by the Dutch military and have been tested by the Royal Navy.
The system, which the Dutch military says is the first of its kind in the world, has โhigher sensitivity than traditional antennasโ and can detect targets at a distance of around 100 kilometers.
