Does “I wasn’t even listening” work as an alibi for breaking the law on accepting electoral donations from overseas donors?

As a #deaf person who frequently doesn’t hear things (and not for the sake of trying) I don’t think this will hold water for #Farage. If as it appears on film he understood, then it’s reasonable for others to assume he did.
He’s also not deaf.
