Project Hail Mary, the novel, totally ruined the movie for me. I was expecting to LOVE the movie. I WANTED to love the movie.
Every plot point felt rushed. The scientific discoveries didn't feel earned because they just seemed to magically happen. ZERO mention of the very necessary, biological reason that Dr. Grace *had* to be the replacement astronaut. And so many emotional beats skipped or diluted.
I missed the HARD SCIENCE. Ultimately, I am sad to say I'm disappointed.
