Okay that was intensely stupid; there's a rail strike due to the genocide in Israel at the moment, I get that and lots of leeway is passed on to them. It took 12 hours to get from Perugia to Sorento but the part that ended my enjoyment of the truck was that the bus didn't stop where we asked them to stop and we ended up IN Sorento not 10 miles before Sorento and we needed a 70 euro taxi to get us to the B&B. Okay, fine, now it's 9pm in a town up the road from Sorento where the host tells us to follow the road a brief bit and climb some stairs up to the town. Nope, almost killed by an asshole passing on a blind corner, we climb many,many stairs and no town. So now it's 10 and all we have is grappa and tea, thanks hosts.
I think I'll sleep in, ignore fucking pompeii because I can't trust the buses and the cabs would run hundreds. I think I'll wave to my wife hiking with my daughter on the coast and wait to get the goddamn train back to Umbria for the rest of the time here. Umbria is awesome, Naples sucks ass and I'm done with it.
