As a vinyl DJ, I play a lot of old music (as you would imagine) at my two regular residences (from 70s & 80s nights, to jazz & soul/funk sets) & I've been increasingly struck over the last few years how many young people both know the music well enough to sing along & equally ask for classic tracks from the (main) vinyl era.
Now, I have an answer; the preference for old(er) on streaming platforms...
Of course, I think also the music was better back then!
