The US is seeking to release up to 17 million barrels of oil from its Strategic Petroleum Reserve to help curb fuel prices driven up by the war on Iran, Reuters reports.
NB: the US uses 20 million barrels a day
The strategic reserve only has 283 million barrels left, the lowest level since 1982
