My understanding of the "let them eat cake" comment was not that it indicated a lack of compassion, but such extreme privilege that the speaker was unable to imagine there being nothing at all to eat and no money to buy anything.

The idea that anyone would "just change school" because they found the choice of operating system annoying is extraordinary to me; the operating system on their computers is not in the top 10 things I would consider important in a school.
