I'm lucky, in my yard & neighborhood, they are frequently overhead, esp. fall & winter when they breed in southeast Louisiana

there are definitely easier spots for where i would want to photograph them though...usually the state park on the other side of town...

as i study photography, i realized i had learned to take "bird in hover" shots instead of "bird in flight" shots because i have spent so much time learning on hummingbirds (who come reliably to feeders) but slowly, slowly i will learn...
