I got invited up to the Old Fire Station community center in Stoke Newington – the home of the Growing Communities organization, which runs the Stokey farmers’ market as well as London’s oldest and longest-running CSA scheme - to talk Lifehouse & see if we can’t maybe improve coordination around food-security issues between them and other local institutions.

I suspect that none of this effort would satisfy the more doctrinaire sort of anarchist: it’s all contaminated, at every edge, by contact with individuals and institutions dedicated to logics of charity or church, market or state. But it’s what we have, and we need it, and it has its own compromised beauty.
