I literally 2 days ago bought a Toyota BZ4x and am on the same journey with that car. There’s a Toyota lawsuit where someone sued because Progressive insurance already had his driving data and he didn’t know or consent. A judge ruled that because he had installed the app, he had entered into a binding arbitration agreement and it could not be the basis of a class action lawsuit. So I’m not creating an account and not using the Toyota app. But that means when I call them up for help, they are completely lost. One agent said he couldn’t even make a record of my call because he had no profile to tie it to. Yay! But it also means nobody knows what to do when I call, so every call takes 10 times longer.
