"Opponents of a proposed Google data center shut down a city council meeting in Hermantown, Minn., before it could begin Monday night, preventing councilors from voting on key permits.
Hermantown Police Chief Jim Crace declared the protest an unlawful and unsafe assembly approximately two hours later, giving everyone 10 minutes to get out of the building or face arrest.
Protesters, many wearing red “no data center” T-shirts, alternated between several chants, including “Let us speak!” and “Shut it down!” Several police officers guarded the doors to the room, restraining and shoving back a few people who initially approached the chambers."
