Hey I've done the vineyard tastings, I enjoy a good wine. But ultimately, while breaking down the flavour profiles etc is objective as a description it's ultimately just wanking. What matters is if you like the taste and want to drink it - that part is entirely subjective and no one person's opinion is better than another.
When I think of people with 'discerning' tastes my mind turns to the image of a 5 year old boy who refuses to eat the meat if the peas have touched it.
