Part of my day today was telling the guy I was training not to even look at the instrument during calibration, or he'd fuck it up.

Alignment coincidentally failed.

He asked me if it was because he'd disregarded my instructions and looked at it.

"Yeah, observing the system changes the outcome."

The dirty look I got was worth it.
