That's the problem with a question like this, even the "X but..." answers have caveats. If someone answers a question in a helpful friendly way, I don't OWE them a reply but I always do with a thank you or at least a heart.
But, as it this the Fediverse, there are always bad faith replies and in no way do I owe them a reply in any way, shape, or form.
