Northwestern Ontario. We bought the house with 160acres in 2016, then the neighbouring land two years ago.

We had no way to develop without the new land (any access right through our yard.) Now we have options for future business that don’t forgo our privacy.

Because we got in early and fixed up everything ourselves, we are about $350,000 all in including new fireplace, gravity septic and backup heat/water systems. We did the expensive stuff a decade ago when it was more affordable.

There are homes with land now going $400,000-$600,000, depending on the house itself. The land is just gravy around here and not really accounted for in the cost of the home.
Home on 160acres is not unusual.

But little luxuries in town, you make your own fun.
