Norfolk Alert: Minor tidal flooding is expected in low-lying areas of Norfolk on Sunday, October 11, with high tide occurring around 10 a.m. Residents in flood-prone areas should prepare for possible roadway flooding during the morning hours.
To help residents protect their vehicles, the City of Norfolk is activating its Parking Strategy for Flooding Events, offering FREE temporary parking at designated City-owned lots and garages throughout Norfolk, including the York Street Garage (215 W. York St.).
Free parking will be available Sunday, October 11, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Residents are encouraged to move vehicles to higher ground before flooding begins. Motorists should use the Waze app to navigate around flooded roads and never drive through floodwaters.
View designated parking locations, the interactive map, and parking guidelines at www.norfolk.gov/FloodParking.
