Look, I am not in any way excusing the mayhem or the violent response. People get hurt, people get maimed. And psychologically, it isn't good for law enforcement to fire anything on its own citizens either.
But it has an impact. It provokes a response. It triggers serious debate. It destabilises an unacceptable status quo.
