I wonder how raw estrogen is actually synthesised? I wonder if there is anybody on the planet doing that who is not a pharmaceutical plant. The one thing I know about biochemistry (from an ex) is that protein synthesis takes a ridiculously long time (months per batch), daily work and a stupid amount of expensive and dangerous centrifuges

Maybe one day it will be possible to just buy some crispr-modified bacteria and cultivate it at home forever (I have no idea if it's ever possible to get product out of bacterial soup without using a centrifuge that costs 10k and gets you on a watchlist)
