Good words. Changing people is impossible. Heck, changing myself sometimes feels impossible. And good call out on the tendency to expect something in return and being realistic about that, because that depends on the other person too. It's worth it for those times when a real friendship develops out of it, though, and it's worth trying even when most of them fizzle.
