"content": "Winter storm - destruction of a forest.\n\nDense wet snow has been falling for over 24 hours. Widespread power outages on the highest terrain continue and will probably continue through the night and into tomorrow. \n\nIn these photos we see a tall, beautiful, proud Douglas fir that has lost multiple branches because of the extreme load of the wet snow that sticks to the branches. \n\nThe second photo is a close-up that more easily shows the broken branches and the exposed inner wood.\n\nThis is the Sacramento mountains in the Lincoln National Forest in Southern New Mexico, about 10 miles east of Alamogordo.\n\n#NewMexico #Mountains #Snow #Winter #Storm #Damage #Trees\nhttps://media.universeodon.com/media_attachments/files/115/952/643/440/400/730/original/ba87a175f8beaa05.jpg\nhttps://media.universeodon.com/media_attachments/files/115/952/643/673/716/497/original/4e11793bfc6cbb74.jpg\n",
