If you hold bitcoin and have ever thought about borrowing against it, this one matters.
Ledn just packaged $188M of bitcoin backed loans into an asset backed security. It earned an investment grade rating from S&P, the first time a BTC lending portfolio has done that, and investors wanted twice as much as was on offer.
Why it matters: pension funds and insurers can now fund bitcoin lending through a product they already know how to buy. More capital competing to lend usually means better rates for borrowers over time.
What doesn't change: your loan to value ratio, liquidation terms and who holds your coins still matter more than any headline. Compare before you borrow.
