Fall into New Features and Updates on Trip Hopping
We just wrapped up our coding session in Phoenix and released a major update to Trip Hopping. Here is what is new in the latest build:
The Hopper Deck: We replaced the old dashboard with the Hopper Deck, a dynamic feed featuring context-aware cards for travelers, meetups, stays, and recommendations nearby. Cards sync with the map, pass or pin items to curate your view, all with a familiar swiping experience. Fun "fork in the road" cards let you virtually travel to the next destination, creating a choose-your-adventure experience as you explore points of interest, local members, quirky facts about the area, and other travelers nearby.
AI Travel Co-Pilot: The AI Co-Pilot is now available in a resizable floating bubble. It understands your active map viewport for contextual suggestions, helps you discover events and destinations, and features speech mode for hands-free searching on the go. At the moment this is available only to Hopped Up members while we assess the operating costs, but will very likely be released broadly in time.
Travel Footprints, Country Polygons, and the Vibe Tab: Profiles now function as live travel journals with interactive country polygon maps of where you've been, a Vibe Tab to share travel styles and habits, and common interest indicators when viewing other profiles.
Big Love for Roadtrippers and Hitchhikers: The transport grid now includes wait-time and hitchhiking estimates, live state and country fuel cost data, cleaner ferry and transit routing, and expanded community integrations for Trustroots, Couchsurfing events, and Nostr listings.
Smarter Chat, Contacts, and Comments: One-on-one chats now support persistent message drafts. You can react to comments on places and events, view attendee carousels, and use an improved contact wizard to find friends already on the app.
Visa Rules at a Glance: Automated visa requirements are now pulled directly from Wikipedia to help you check entry rules quickly.
Under-the-Hood Polish and Speed: The app has been upgraded to the latest Flutter runtime, offering faster startup, lazy loading, smoother web photo displays, and responsive widescreen navigation.
Update your app and let us know what you think.
