How about you leave me and my people the fuck alone? Why should anyone get to decide anything that affects me? In any case, it's unjust for someone across the whole continent to make decisions for me, and electing which master will enslave me doesn't change that. So pure democracy would just be a vote between friends on what restaurant to go to. Which works fine. Not my business what other people I don't know are getting up to.
