Copyright exists to protect the rights of creators to determine how their work is used.
(It has been misused by corporations, but that is a different conversation.)
If it’s so harmless to the authors, he could have just asked for the rights to use the work in this manner. I’m sure many would have said yes.
He did not. And that’s not lawful. As *well* as not being ethical, kind, or respectful.
