I make my own primitive style of bone meal using discarded, dehydrated fish & meat bones. I just air-dry/sun-dry & then smash them all up into a coarse & bit powdery texture.
I used to make a lot of my own blood meal fertilizers too but no longer have regular sources to make that regularly. It's a more difficult process than making my own basic bone meal too. I use my homemade bone meal as a soil conditioner, straw bale conditioner & to boost my composts too.
