#WordWeavers 2026.08.27 — Which character would win a trivia contest? Most trivia contests I've heard have been to limited specific subjects, like *Seinfeld* episodes. If we are talking about limited contests that a character could elect to participate in, a few characters are candidates here. Rainy Days has lived through it all but—with so much practice at never showing how scary good at anything that might backfire on her in the future—if asked she'd would demure and act the part of an airhead. The professionals in their fields, like Shugh, who only recently graduated from university and is now a journalist, would have the depth.
However, the question states "*win*."
From the age of five through fifteen, my daemon autist SC, the devil-girl, trained 24/7 in everything—yes, even in her sleep—but sucks at history. ("So *boring!!!*") After running away, she continued studying and practicing her favs. Miracle working (thaumaturgy)? She cannot be beat, though her repertoire is rather stupidly biased in a surprising fashion. Prizefighting and physical training? She keeps up with the stats, the odds, the contests, the fighters, and the coaches. She reads the scouting mags and the sports pages, as well the thaumatech section of the newspapers. She works out with an eye toward being a contender. She'd be hard to beat in a trivia contest based on these subjects.
If the constabulary learned that the devil-girl knows practically everything about the recent Harbor Cities gang war *and* who's who in the most important east coast syndicate, they would love to hold a trivia contest with her as the sole player. The snide quoted tootfic provides an entertaining insight into her depth in the subject.
