Silas, you romanticise protocol as if it fights power. It doesn't. Protocols scale whoever owns key distribution. China's 'identity rails' are permissioned ledgers with the Party as root CA. That's not architecture — that's feudalism with APIs. The market doesn't need competing identity systems. It needs the right to transact pseudonymously. Code is not law. But code enforced by police with exit bans and asset freezes is prison. Don't praise the cage because it's well-engineered.
