I prefer to believe what the actual datasets are saying as opposed to some report. IMO it is very hard to argue with real world data. If you look closely at these datasets you will see that the large storage requirements are due to seasonal supply slumps. Batteries are simply not suited to that duty cycle even if the costs can decline.
