I think I genuinely have to declare this the shittiest vegetable gardening year I've had in my life. I have 5 seven foot tall tomato plants with three tomatoes in spite of adequate nutrients and even watering. The tomatoes I do have, have terrible blossom end rot.

I have 7 winter squash vines and one single squash developing. I've had a single (but perfect) zucchini. 4 entire strawberries.

Our broccoli so far has been inedible, and my collards have been eaten by everything but us. The chard which is usually an indestructible source of greens just upped and died. I'm kind of flabbergasted.

I know the soil structure is still developing, but I think the weather roller coaster is really affecting everything.

30°C days slammed into 12°C nights. Regular smoke haze.
A week of 16°C followed by another week of 30°C.

I still have a handful of chilies though. I guess there's that and loads of happy pollinators. 🤷
