IMO, a big part of beating a monolith involves waiting for the internal contradictions to lead it to failure and preparing for that event, while being fully aware that "the market can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent." This may well be a multigenerational effort; IMO, the struggle is not against Twitter or Facebook or what have you, but against the global system of capital producing them. The fediverse is just a historically-specific facet of that struggle.
