Victory day and d-day anniversaries are the most annoying reminders that nobody learned shit. Using the monumental efforts it took to defeat the most vile version of fascism to defend lesser fascists today is an abject failure of education.
The fact that states that fought against nazism did not spend a moment on self reflection about how the bigotry they promoted and perpetuated was rooted in the same hate that led to a genocide is why we are where we are today.
