If you wanted to understand the situation you'd want to look at arrests, detentions, deportations, and renditions of ICE and CPB as well as the number of border crossings. Arrests, detentions, deportations, and renditions are all up, border crossings are down. That's why you see ICE going into targeted communities at an unprecedented scale. Their budget increase of US $20B will speed that up further.
