A reminder for newcomers, since I hear there’s a bunch of you:

A “like” (star) sends a message to the posters that says “hey, I liked what you did/said/shared there, I glad I read/saw it” Which is very nice and appreciated, but that’s all it does, there’s no software that bootstraps that into into other people’s feeds.

A boost puts the post in front of the people who follow you (excepting all the ways it can be filtered and any people who have elected not to see boosts). Boosting is important - *you* are the ‘algorithm’, your boosts to share what you like and matters to you are how things get around here.

Without boosting from follow network to follow network, that fabulous post you liked sits within the OPs followers. Sometimes that’s exactly right and sometimes it deserves to be shared widely and fly free.

And yes, you are responsible for what you put into other’s feeds, they *will* follow or unfollow, or filter, or block, or… based on your decisions. That’s life.
