I don't see how the poor judgement of a minority of people makes the slogan divisive. Not a single one of the leftists spaces I'm in would condone the incident you describe. Nor am I aware of any voice in the movement calling for all Jewish people to be dubbed "genociders". It sounds like conflating anti-Zionism with antisemiticism...a narrative Israel is very keen on, and has repeatedly been called out for pushing.

Moreover, an isolated incident of people shouting such accusations is still *nothing* [1] in comparison to the genocide being inflicted on Palestinians over all these decades. To stifle the use of the slogan, merely because some outliers in leftist circles are assholes, seems unwarranted.

The only case where I'd consider "free Palestine" to be divisive is for Zionists and other colonizers. I'd rather not see such people in GNOME, or libre software in general.

To every person with an intact heart and humanity, "free Palestine" stands for solidarity and empathy.

[1] and I say this as someone who has [faced mob violence](https://contrapunctus.codeberg.page/blog/mandawali-madness.html) - which includes being shouted at by a crowd, and a bit more.
