I am trying to read sci-fi authors I never explored when I was younger, based on recommendations from friends.
During #DefCon I had dinner with Bruce Schneier and Adam Shostack :donor: :rebelverified: (npub1s7c…rcqn) who suggested a bunch, and I’ve started reading Revelation Space by Alastair Reynolds. Best quote so far:
“I’m sorry, I thought—“ Volyova trailed off. “Your people don’t use simulations for this kind of work?”
“We used to,” Vavilov said, with a long suffering sigh. “But the trouble with simulations is that they put up with far too much shit.”
