i dont hate the idea but it really is a project to create a siloed off ecosystem and a new programming language that ms controls. theres a dozen things they can do to make integration with actual in-the-wild javascript more straightforward but they dont. you get the feeling you are being punished for straying from the ecosystem. .d.ts files are amazingly stupid. npm js modules with jsdocs should just work.
