Wabi is betting the next app store is the conversation itself
Wabi has raised $55 million at a $1.25 billion valuation to build an AI agent that turns group conversations into temporary, personalized interfaces. The round was led by IVP, with Andreessen Horowitz, Forerunner, the Amazon Alexa Fund and several technology executives participating.
What is new is the product direction: Wabi is moving beyond prompt-based app creation toward an assistant that can generate voting screens, checklists, schedules and other tools inside chats as shared goals emerge. The interface, rather than the answer, becomes the product.
The unresolved issue is whether generated mini apps can become dependable daily software. Wabi has not disclosed user numbers or a business model, while group use raises harder questions about consent, privacy and whose data the agent is allowed to act on.
