On the “unknowing of (Israeli) state terrorism”
Jewish terrorism should not be reduced to individuals like this man; it is institutionalized. The state not only encourages and protects such perpetrators, it is itself the largest perpetrator of political violence by far.
[…] In other words, more than simply the result of elite cost-benefit calculations or the external support of the United States, Israeli state terrorism can be conceptualised as an inherent feature of the settler colonial state-building project under way since the late nineteenth century; it is a necessary element of the historical consolidation process in the construction of an exclusively Jewish national settler state, particularly in the light of continuing indigenous resistance from Palestinians to the elimination of their presence and culture from historic Palestine. From this perspective, and not to deny the moral agency of Israeli officials, Israeli state terrorism is nevertheless a structurally implicated outcome of the internal logic of the settler colonial state-building process which requires the use of state violence to eliminate the native from the territory through destruction, expulsion or suppression.

His own personal #Nakba
[…] According to an indictment filed with the Lod District Court, Nevo devised a plan in which 72 Jewish attackers would carry out simultaneous attacks in mixed Jewish-Arab cities and Arab communities across Israel.
[…] His alleged goal was to cause Arab citizens to flee or be expelled to Jordan, Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.
[…] At a detention hearing this week, Nevo told the court that his lawyer had suggested he "act a little crazy" because it could help reduce his sentence.
