It is a fight between post WW2 European social democracy and Anglo-American capitalism tightening its grip on the island of Great Britain. The only way for Scotland to remain a European-style democracy is a return to its status of a sovereign country but it seems like around half of the population either don't want that or lack mental capacity to understand the real problem.
