It took me a while to realize that even on the Fediverse, you are allowed to block people, even more so since this is my home. Why should I tolerate anyone under my window that I don't like?
I am quick to block loud people who feel the need to vilify others, especially those who think it is justified to be hostile for 'reasons'. I understand that some have a history of being oppressed, but that does not give anyone the right to be oppressive toward others, no matter how justified or entitled they might feel. This sometimes reminds me of stories where the abused becomes the abuser.
I am always looking for a more diplomatic solution and want to protect my peace, whatever the situation. I am more like a frightened dog walking on eggshells rather than the one that lashes out and bites everyone. I am afraid of the dogs that bite, and that is why I must protect myself.
I am a pacifist, and you can think of me as a "silent acceptor" or whatever you want, but I do not tolerate violence of any kind. Because of that, I have a very low bar for blocking nowadays.
