I just saw that there's a whole hashtag for #visiblemending
Back in art school, when I could more easily get away with dressing like a full-on clown, I would use embroidery floss to weave into worn out bits of old jeans. Sew in old chair fabric to replace bits of a jacket. Replace a denim jacket's sleeves with flashy suit lining from a thrift store suit.
There's a part of me that wishes there were plentiful pictures of that period in my life. Most of me, though, is really glad.
