I presume that ethtool reports negotiation at 2.5gbe.
Do you have one of those fancy cable testers? Do you have a hub smart enough to report cable readings (like my TP-Link TL-SG108E?)
Probably the chip on the motherboard, but I'd prefer to really rule out cables.
Did it ever provide full bandwidth? New mobo?
