WHAT ARE MINIAPPS
Miniapps are "embeddable" webapps that can link to your Fediverse account and do various things.
WHAT CAN YOU DO WITH THEM?
You can authenticate yourself to them to link your identity to an account on there. Miniapps can be given permission to read and post on your Behalf. They can also initiate evm blockchain crypto transactions, (though this part is completely optional.) Some miniapps act as their own activitypub message senders, for notifications etc.
WHO CAN MAKE THEM? Anyone who can make a dynamic webapp and has reasonable development skills. A full developers doc will be included.
WHO CAN RUN THEM? Soon is will be available on "Egregoros" Fediverse microblog software. your server admin decides which or if any miniapps can be loaded on your home server.
When they are considered working and stabilized, I will attempt to port them to Pleroma.
WHAT ARE THE PRIVACY RISKS? There is a full permission system where the miniapp asks for functionality and you can permit or deny.
