This is probably why, in recent years, the only MMOs I actually play have been RuneScape, Elder Scrolls Online and Guild Wars 2. Sadly, ESO has been going in a direction I really don't like, but fortunately, RuneScape has made a massive comeback (both OSRS and the modern game) and Guild Wars 2 is great as ever, with a Guild Wars 3 on the horizon.
Those three games feel like online RPGs far more than purely endgame grinds. You can actually enjoy the journey.
