I feel really sorry for every victim of Japanophilia. People "learning Japanese" can feel the rope tightening around their neck but confuse it for an ornament. They see the English teaching job as a light at the end of the tunnel while they toil for computer science degrees their parents pressured them into getting. It is not the light at the end of the tunnel. It's the waning twilight before the eternal night.
So glad I dodged a bullet by moving to Indonesia, but feeling sorry still for all my friends who took the bait irt Japanese migration.
