"content": "Cob is a natural building material made from subsoil, water, organic fibrous material such as straw, and sometimes lime. A masonry plinth is normally built first to raise the cob off the ground. Ideally, the earth for the cob is dug on site or nearby.\n\nCob building is currently practiced predominantly in Devon, as well as in Cornwall. These examples are in the south-eastern part of Devon, where the New Red Sandstone gives rise to rich red soils.\n\n#Devon #Cornwall #Cob #Architecture\n\nhttps://files.mastodon.social/media_attachments/files/114/150/539/308/496/670/original/9d40d2b846b5a185.jpeg\nhttps://files.mastodon.social/media_attachments/files/114/150/542/570/569/606/original/5e467bb2f63d1389.jpeg\nhttps://files.mastodon.social/media_attachments/files/114/150/545/038/090/557/original/2d51cd84c3316bc9.jpeg",
