Same here. In my youth I would “forget to eat.” I got programmed to eat three meals a day in the military. 25 years later I was fat and out of shape even though I exercised regularly.
I switched to OMD and clean eating three years ago. At 52 I have the same body, energy and performance that I did when I was 22.
I did have to start using a calorie tracker. Not to keep from eating too much, but to make sure I was eating enough. I also track my food to make sure I eat enough protein and healthy fat for muscle growth.
I’m a little vain about my appearance. When a fellow firefighter said “Dude, you’re jacked.” When I was changing my shirt after a fire I had all the evidence I needed to know OMD was working and I made it a long term commitment.
Humans evolved to eat three times a week, not three times a day.
